With the advent of the motorised hearse in the early 1900's, the traditional horse drawn funeral hearse is seldom seen nowadays.
Heritage Carriages is proud to supply services to Traditional Funerals in order to keep this time honoured noble tradition alive.
Traditional Funerals have secured an original early 20th century French four wheeled hearse, built by French coach builder Barth Et Geiger of Osler Paris, for a single horse. The vehicle features a black body mounted with fleur-de-lys, with the wheels mounted on rubber tyres. Manufactured in 1910, the hearse was purchased from a Scottish antiquities dealer in Edinburgh, Scotland on the 30th Sept 2010 and arrived in Australia on 11th March 2011 . The vehicle is currently being lovingly restored to its former glory, and will be available in early 2012. The carriage will be drawn by our magnificent white draught horse, Buddy.
